Early Childhood Education
Early childhood education regards education in the early stages of childhood. According to NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), it spans the human life from birth to age 8. Infants and toddlers experience life more holistically than any other age group. Social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, and physical lessons are not learned separately by very young children. Adults who are most helpful to young children interact in ways that understand that the child is learning from the whole experience, not just that part of the experience to which the adult gives attention. Early childhood education often focuses on children learning through play.
Preschools and early childhood education is quite flourishing in India now a days. Several international preschools select various cities in the country to establish their operations. Most of the parents prefer to send their children in preschools not only for the sake of education, but also for their all-round development. The children tend to learn faster in preschools due to interaction with other children of their own age. The major advantage of preschool is that it helps the child to overcome the separation anxiety. The child adjusts himself to spend a couple of hours in the school. Preschools and early childhood education helps the children to become independent and confident.
Early Childhood Special Education programs for children ages three to five are part of the special education continuum as operated by the public schools of Illinois. While the Illinois Department of Human Services is the lead agency for special education services for children ages birth to three, ISBE Early Childhood staff act as liaisons to that program. The Division of Early Childhood Education (DECE) of the New Jersey Department of Education has programmatic responsibility for preschool through 3rd grade (PK3) programs. Working with PK3 programs across the DOE, the Division of Early Childhood Education is responsible for the development, implementation, and alignment of program components with a focus on standards, curricula, and assessment.
